The Westonka Community Preschool is a developmentally appropriate school readiness program that emphasize activities in all areas of growth, development and learning for children ages three (by September 1 of the current school year) through five years.

Our Curriculum
Westonka Preschool utilizes The Creative Curriculum that emphasizes learning in the following areas:
- Social-Emotional Development
- Language and Literacy Development
- Cognitive and Mathematical Development
- Arts and Science
We focus on children's social-emotional development by utilizing a framework called the Pyramid Model. We also utilize the Second Step curriculum, which uses pictures and puppets to help teach social-emotional skills.
Our preschool standards align with Westonka Public Schools' kindergarten program to better prepare your child for success in kindergarten. We also utilize Teaching Strategies GOLD, a program that helps track your child's development based on the Minnesota Early Indicators of Progress.
Childcare Partner
We partner with the district's child care program, called Adventure Club, to offer wrap-around childcare for our preschoolers in the same building as your child's school. For families who need full-day care, Adventure Club can extend your child's learning experience. We work together on the development of curriculum and your child's learning path, as well as attend trainings together to make your child's first school experience a success.
Adventure Club hours:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. preschool days only

2026-27 Preschool Registration
Preschool registration opens Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. at westonkace.org.
To Register for Preschool:
- Between now and March 11 - complete the paperwork and submit them to the Early Learning Center via email to earlylearning@westonka.k12.
mn.us, fax to 952-491-8575 or drop them off in person at 5702 Game Farm Rd E, Minnetrista, MN 55364. The paperwork includes: - The Early Childhood Registration Form - you complete this form and submit this to us.
- Immunizations - you can complete the Immunization Form or ask your child's clinic to fax us their immunization records.
- Preschool Health Care Summary - your child's physician completes this and faxes it directly to us.
- Between March 4 at 8:00 am - March 11 at 4:00 pm - log into our online registration system and create a contract for your child. If you need both Preschool and Adventure Club, you will need to create two contracts.
- Beginning on March 16 - Contracts will begin to be approved using a tiered lottery system. Contracts will only be approved if all of the paperwork has been submitted. Families will receive an Eleyo registration email when your contract has been approved.
- March 19 - Families will be notified by our Early Learning office stating if your contract was approved and if you were placed on any waiting lists.

Tier 1: District staff and Current Students - Westonka Community Preschool, ECFE, and Preschool Adventure Club
Tier 2: Siblings of Current Families - Westonka Community Preschool, ECFE, and Preschool Adventure Club
Tier 3: General Public
